Green tea. Who knew there were so many benefits to drinking this flavorful and earthy beverage?

Green tea can improve your overall health:

Since green tea contains endless amounts of powerful antioxidants, particularly Epigallocatechin Gallate (which has been studied to treat various diseases), it can help protect cells and molecules in your body from damage, therefore improving your overall health. Powerful antioxidants also have the ability to possibly reduce various types of cancer, as cancer can derive from oxidative damage.

Green tea can improve brain function:

Green tea contains just enough caffeine to act as a stimulant, without the response that our bodies have to other sources of caffeine. Caffeine itself has been proven to improve brain function, mood, reaction time, and even memory due to its ability to increase the firing of neurons and concentration of neurotransmitters. However, aside from green tea containing caffeine, it contains a type of amino acid (L-thianine) which produces anti-anxiety affects.

Green tea can improve physical performance:

Once again, the caffeine found in green tea contributes to one of the major benefits. Caffeine has been known to improve physical performance by making fatty acids available for use as energy in the short term; therefore, leading our bodies to a natural metabolism boost.

Green tea can improve dental health:

Still striving for that healthy and vibrant smile? Green tea contains various antioxidants that help inhibit the growth of bacteria and some viruses in the mouth. Multiple studies show that it can also reduce bad breath!

Next time you go for that latte or blended coffee beverage, reach for green tea instead. If you’re willing to add green tea to your daily routine, it is best to drink it warm and unsweetened to obtain the most benefits as possible.
